For
those of you who are currently planning or attending weddings with a theme, you
may be thinking about creative ways to incorporate that theme into your hair
and makeup. Being able to express the
wedding theme through your style choices is a fun way to reflect the wedding
colors, location, or season. From Fairy
Tale Weddings to sleek City Ceremonies, the stylists at TheStylisted can tailor
your hair and makeup to whatever event you’re attending. We’ve pulled together some hair and makeup
ideas that may inspire you on the big day.
Fall Wedding
With fall approaching so quickly, it’s
only right that our first theme wedding focuses on this season. Loose, but well-groomed updo’s pair well with
autumn (moving away from the beachy look of summer hairdo’s). Try adding a fall-inspired hair accessory and
chic braids to your hairstyle. One of
the hairstyles pictured below incorporates a braid that wraps around the side
of the head and ends in a chignon, while several curls fall gracefully out of
the updo. As far as makeup goes, a wine-stained
lip fits well with the colors of this season.
Use cream and doe-colored shadows for eyes, because the brown will play
well with the changing colors
of the falling leaves and draw attention to your lips.

Fairy Tale
Wedding
This photo shoot was based on the Snow-White and Rose-Red
fairy tale. Dark liner lining the top
and bottom eyelids, rose-red lips, and a beautiful, long, loose side braid
truly bring this fairy tale to life. A
golden wreath, curls tamed into a braid that wraps around the back of the head,
and natural makeup show the other sister’s personality. If choosing Snow-White’s look, use eye shadows
that have more of a pink tone. Use a
medium pink shade lipstick or lip gloss.

Wedding in the
City
Weddings
in downtown Chicago often have a more modern style, so why not choose hair and
makeup that play up the city’s liveliness?
Try looking at high-fashion trends for inspiration. Smoky eyes and dramatic hair give off a
contemporary, sculpted vibe fitting for a city wedding. Silver, dark gray, or dark blue eye shadows match
the colors of the city. Keep lips
neutral so that eyes can be the focus of this look. Messy curls with a refined crystal hair pin
or a pompadour-type hairstyle ending with a ladylike chignon are two
possibilities for hair.

English Tea Party Wedding
This bride’s stylish, knotted bun and golden headband look like something out of Alice in Wonderland. Notice the section of hair that wraps around the crown of the bride’s head—this is the main focus of the hair when viewing the bride from the front. Peach lips and cheeks pair perfectly with a natural eye. Try matte tea-color eye shadows. Focus on restrained elegance, since tea parties are supposed to be prim and proper!

Old-Fashioned
Glamour
Curls are the key here! Whether your hair is half-up or down, these
stylish curls will make you look like you just stepped out of an old
movie. Make sure to part hair on the
side. If you have bangs, then they
should be styled to sweep across your face. Black, winged eyeliner can be paired with
bright red lips or a neutral tone--you choose!
